    A pesquisa em teopoética no Brasil: pesquisadores e produção bibliográfica.Antonio Geraldo Cantarela - 2014 - Horizonte 12 (36):1228-1251.
The field of knowledge named Theopoetics, associated with the interfaces between literature and the general scope of the sciences that study religion and the spiritualties, has produced a large number of events and publications in the last three or four decades in Brazil. This paper presents radiography of bibliographic output within Theopoetics, focusing on four aspects: i) gender, age and institutional affiliation of the researchers; ii) their academic background and titling; iii) publications in the area and main investigators; iv) models (...)

Conflicto entre Derechos Ambientales y Desarrollo Económico en la Constitución Ecuatoriana.Romel Paúl Sarmiento Castro & Fernando Esteban Ochoa Rodríguez - 2024 - Resistances. Journal of the Philosophy of History 5 (10):e240162.

    (1 other version)Agostinho e a fundamentação bíblica da intoler'ncia religiosa.Flavio Fontenelle Loque - 2023 - Horizonte 21 (64):206315-206315.

Ensinar E aprender filosofias negras: Entrevista a Renato Noguera.

The Implications of an Organization's Structure on Whistleblowing.Granville King Iii - 1999 - Journal of Business Ethics 20 (4):315-326.
Previous studies investigating reports of corporate or individual wrongdoing have failed to examine the effects of an organization's structure upon the decision to blow the whistle. This paper suggests that an organization's structure may perform a significant role in the decision to report versus not report an observed wrongdoing. Five organizational structures (that is, centralized, matrix, horizontal, hybrid, and divisional) were examined in regards to their effectiveness in encouraging or discouraging observers of unethical conduct channels for reporting such behavior. Discussion (...)

Perceptions of Intentional Wrongdoing and Peer Reporting Behavior Among Registered Nurses.Granville King Iii - 2001 - Journal of Business Ethics 34 (1):1-13.
How a person perceives a wrongdoing being committed by a coworker will affect whether the incident is reported within the organization. A significant factor that may influence the decision to report a wrongdoing is the perceived intentionality of the wrongdoer. This study sought to examine if differences in perceptions of a wrongdoing could affect the disclosure of unethical behavior. Three hundred seventy-two registered nurses (N = 372) responded to a survey consisting of both intentional and unintentional wrongdoings that could occur (...)

    How Conservative Are Evolutionary Anthropologists?Henry F. Lyle Iii & Eric A. Smith - 2012 - Human Nature 23 (3):306-322.
The application of evolutionary theory to human behavior has elicited a variety of critiques, some of which charge that this approach expresses or encourages conservative or reactionary political agendas. In a survey of graduate students in psychology, Tybur, Miller, and Gangestad (Human Nature, 18, 313–328, 2007) found that the political attitudes of those who use an evolutionary approach did not differ from those of other psychology grad students. Here, we present results from a directed online survey of a broad sample (...)

This book was first published in 2004. Plato, Aristophanes and the creators of the 'Orphic' gold tablets employ the traditional tale of a journey to the realm of the dead to redefine, within the mythic narrative, the boundaries of their societies. Rather than being the relics of a faded ritual tradition or the products of Orphic influence, these myths can only reveal their meanings through a close analysis of the specific ways in which each author makes use of the tradition. High Crimes and Misdemeanors: A History of Impeachment for the Age of Trump.Frank O. Bowman Iii - 2019 - Cambridge University Press.
America frequently talks about impeaching a president, but the impeachment provisions of the American constitution are widely misunderstood. In High Crimes and Misdemeanors, constitutional scholar Frank O. Bowman, III offers unprecedented clarity to the question of impeachment, tracing its roots to medieval England through its adoption in the Constitution and 250 years of American experience. By examining the human and political history of those who have faced impeachment, Bowman demonstrates that the Framers intended impeachment to be a flexible tool, adaptable (...)

IN THE PAST THREE YEARS, TWO IMPORTANT CATHOLIC MORAL THINKERS—both well-respected Thomists—have published books on the natural law. Besides offering their own significant contributions to natural law thought, Jean Porter and Russell Hittinger each insightfully surveys developments in natural law thinking from the scholastics, into the early modern period, through today. In importantly similar narrations of the history of natural law, both Porter and Hittinger claim that natural law in the modern period has been understood as a source of specific (...)

On the Theory of Measurement in Quantum Mechanical Systems.Loyal Durand Iii - 1960 - Philosophy of Science 27 (2):115-.
This paper is concerned with the description of the process of measurement within the context of a quantum theory of the physical world. It is noted that quantum mechanics permits a quasi-classical description of those macroscopic phenomena in terms of which the observer forms his perceptions. Thus, the process of measurement in quantum mechanics can be understood on the quasi-classical level by transcribing from the strictly classical observables of Newtonian physics to their quasi-classical counterparts the known rules for the measurement (...)

Being able to effectively respond in the event a crisis is relevant to an organization's survival. Whether or not an organization is prepared for a potential crisis depends upon senior officials, and other personnel operating within the company. Corporations with established crisis management teams are able to communicate and effectively respond in the event of a crisis. The purpose of this paper is to suggest effective crisis management depends upon several team-related factors that may influence an organization's response and its (...)

Peer review is a topic of considerable concern to many researchers, and there is a correspondingly large body of research on the topic. This issue of Science and Engineering Ethics presents recent work on peer review that is both grounded in empirical science and is applicable to policy decisions. This research raises two basic questions; (a) how does current peer review operate, and (b) how can it be improved? Topics addressed include descriptions of how peer review is used in Federal (...)

A growing literature testifies to the persistence of place as an incorrigible aspect of human experience, identity, and morality. Place is a common ground for thought and action, a community of experienced particulars that avoids solipsism and universalism. It draws us into the philosophy of the ordinary, into familiarity as a form of knowledge, into the wisdom of proximity. Each of these essays offers a philosophy of place, and reminds us that such philosophies ultimately decide how we make, use, and (...)
